Application Deadline: Community Engagement Mini-Grants
The City of Durham is launching a new round of Community Engagement Mini-Grants to support community-led projects that build skills, strengthen connections, and create real impact. Available funding is $2,000 – $5,000 for smaller projects and $5,000 – $10,000 for larger projects. Example projects include: workshops, neighborhood events, community programming, skill-building initiatives, art or storytelling projects, and small-scale community improvements (gardens, shared spaces, or materials that support community use, no construction projects).
The information session and materials will be available in English and Spanish. Interpretation or any other accommodations are available upon request.
Who can apply:
Residents, groups, and organizations who:

Are based in the City of Durham and serve City of Durham residents.

Can receive and manage funds through an organization with a bank account (their own or a fiscal sponsor).
You do not need to be a nonprofit or have prior experience applying for grants.
What projects should include:

Active involvement from community members (not just attendance)

A skill-building component (learning + doing)

Clearly defined project outcomes and goals with deliverables
