Making Smart Investments in Early Childhood Education Presentation
The Duke Center for Child and Family Policy will host “Making Smart Investments in Early Childhood Education,” a talk by Dr. Chloe Gibbs, a nationally recognized economist known for her research on education and family policy. This event will explore how economists evaluate early childhood care and education (ECE) programs, with a focus on the extensive evidence base around Head Start and other interventions aimed at improving outcomes for children and families. Dr. Gibbs will highlight how to move beyond the question of “Does preschool work?” toward a deeper understanding of what kinds of programs are most effective, for whom, and at scale. The session will provide valuable insights for scholars, practitioners, and policymakers seeking to strengthen early childhood systems through evidence-based investments.
